Following last week’s addition of Brody Brumm to the scholarship list, Liberty head football coach Hugh Freeze awarded three more walk-ons with scholarships this weekend, as Carl Poole, Mason Wolk, and Michael Bollinger all received the good news.

Poole is a redshirt-freshman linebacker from Danville, Virginia where he attended George Washington High School. He saw limited playing time in two games a season ago, but he has turned heads during camp and will be counted on at times to provide depth in 2020. His brother, Carlos Poole, is a redshirt-freshman wide receiver and walk-on for the Flames, who is captured at the end of the video embracing his brother on the news.

Wolk is a redshirt-junior defensive tackle who played in all 13 games as a reserve in 2019, finishing with 6 tackles. He was also a big contributor on special teams. In the regular season finale against New Mexico State, Wolk recorded his first career interception to help seal the win and the Flames’ clinching bowl eligibility.
Bollinger is a redshirt-junior fullback turned tight end in Freeze’s offense. He played in the first three games of the season last year, catching a 19-yard touchdown pass in the team’s first win of the season against Buffalo before suffering a season ending injury later that game.
