On Thursday, TJ Drain made it official and signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Ritchie McKay and the Flames. He joins Zander Carter and Drew Grimes who signed on Wednesday. This trio can enroll at the school this coming summer to be part of the 2025-26 men’s basketball team.
Drain is a 6’8″ forward from Windermere High School in Windermere, Florida. He committed to the Flames this past September following a visit. Drain had offers from UMass, North Florida, Jacksonville, USC Upstate, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Last season, Drain averaged 19.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game, all team highs, as he helped lead his team to a 20-9 record. He was a first team all-state selection and Player of the Year runner-up. He also recorded 3.2 blocks per game while shooting 60% from the field.
“TJ Drain is a fantastic leader as well as a very good basketball player with all of the measurables who is only scratching the surface of the kind of player he is going to be,” said Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay. “Like all of our signees, he comes from a terrific high school program and has an incredibly bright future as a Flame.”
Welcome to the Family, @tjdrain!🔥
