In February 2013, Liberty linebackers coach Carl Torbush announced his retirement for the 2nd time. On Friday, he’s expected to be named head football coach at East Tennessee State University.

ETSU has just reinstated football earlier this year after dropping the program in 2003. They are scheduled to have a press conference at 4pm on Friday to announce the hiring according to reports. Torbush was Liberty’s assistant head coach and linebackers coach for just one season in 2012. He previously retired in 2011 following a prostate cancer diagnosis when he was defensive coordinator for Turner Gill at Kansas.
