Aldreakis Allen has been suspended |
As the News & Advance first reported Tuesday night, Aldreakis Allen was arrested on Friday and arraigned in Lynchburg General District Court “on one count each of attempted robbery of a residence and malicious wounding” from incidents which occurred on March 3.
As reported yesterday, Allen was suspended from the football program on Tuesday.
The loss of Allen could be crushing to Liberty’s running game as Allen and departed senior Sirchauncey Holloway were the only 2 running backs to get a significant number of carries in 2012. D.J. Abnar and Desmond Rice will catapult to the top of the depth chart at running back. This tandem combined for 132 rushing yards and 1 touchdown on 29 carries in 2012.
AA was going to take a lot of pressure off of QB Josh Woodrum, especially behind a young OL. I guess we can hope that LU finds a ‘diamond in the rough’ among its young RBs or maybe even get an experienced JC transfer at the RB position.
I have a feeling this probably pushes Toddrick Macon into the discussion for RB when he arrives this summer. He is of a similar size to AA when he came in
Desmond Rice is the answer, this guy is a hard worker and just an all out football player. When he gets his chances he always capitalizes, just hasn’t had enough opportunities to make everyone see. When this guy does get his chance he will make everyone believe
It’s sad to see someone be his own worst enemy. I hope AA straightens himself out and gets the help he needs.
