When former Liberty wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden was drafted by the Washington Football Team, we all knew he was heading into a great situation for a rookie receiver looking to prove himself.
Washington was widely regarded as one of, if not the, worst wide receiver corps in the NFL last season. The group got a decent boost in 2019 with the emergence of rookies Terry McLaurin and and Kelvin Harmon, but after that there’s not much to offer 2nd year quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
Since AGG was drafted by Washington, the hits keep on coming to their group of receivers. Cody Latimer was signed as a free agent in April, but he was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, which effectively suspends him indefinitely, on Monday following an arrest this offseason.
Harmon tore his ACL and will miss the 2020 season. He and Latimer were expected to compete for a starting spot opposite McLaurin, but now that spot is up for Gandy-Golden to claim.
Of course, Washington could add some additional help prior to the season beginning, but you could do worse than grabbing AGG as a late sleeper in your fantasy football draft this year.
