The Flames finished off a dissapointing regular season with an impressive victory at Radford 73-56. What we learned against the Highlanders:
- Liberty has now won 5 consecutive games played at Radford and 6 straight against Radford overall.
- Liberty finishes the regular season at 11-20 overall and 6-10 in Big South play. The Flames are the #5 seed from the North Division in the Big South Basketball Tournament and will face the #4 seed from the South Division, host Coastal Carolina.
- The 6 regular season conference wins are the fewest since the 2005-06 season.
- The Flames had 4 players score in double figures – Davon Marshall (18), Tavares Speaks (16), John Caleb Sanders (16), and Tomasz Gielo (10).
- JCS also added 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
- Liberty shot 48% from the field and were 9/17 from 3 point range while the Flames held Radford to just 31% shooting from the field and 3/18 from 3.
- Rashun Davis and Javonte Green led the Highlanders with 17 and 15 points respectively.
- Radford’s R.J. Price was cold as he finished 2/15 from the field.
Liberty now turns their attention to Myrtle Beach and the Big South Conference Tournament as the Flames need to win 4 games in 6 days to capture the program’s 3rd ever NCAA Tournament birth. Liberty will face Coastal Carolina on Tuesday at approximately 8pm.
