Liberty continues its solid play inside the friendly confines of the Vines Center, knocking off Radford 75-70. What we learned against the Highlanders:
- The Flames continue their solid play inside the Vines Center as they are 7-5 on the season and 4-2 against Big South foes.
- The Flames and Highlanders are now tied at 4-6 in Big South Conference play and are tied for 4th place in the North Division.
- Liberty’s best job was limiting their turnovers against an agressive Radford defense. The Flames only had 10 turnovers compared to Radford’s 15. The Highlanders came into the game #1 in the conference in turnover margin.
- Radford’s sophomore forward Javonte Green’s 23 points and 13 rebounds were not enough to get the win.
- Liberty was led in scoring by John Caleb Sanders’ 19. Tavares Speaks chipped in 16 and Davon Marshall added 11.
- JR Coronado continues to be a monster on the glass as he finished with 11 boards.
- Andrew Smith continued his solid play with 6 points and 6 rebounds. The sophomore from South Florida is proving he is worthy of solid minutes every single night.
- Liberty continues to beat their opponents at the charity stripe. The Flames were 25/30 from the free throw line while Radford was just 9/20.
Liberty heads to Boiling Springs, NC this weekend to face Gardner-Webb on Saturday at 7pm.
