Liberty’s Jarred Jourdan |
Liberty falls to 0-4 after losing to the UC Irvine Anteaters 64-46. What we learned against the Anteaters:
- Liberty played really well in the 1st half, but was again unable to put a full 40 minute game together as the Anteaters outscored the Flames 34-22 in the 2nd half.
- This is Liberty’s worse start since the 1990-91 season when the Flames dropped the first 5 games of the season.
- This was the first game the starting lineup was altered, as JR Coronado and Casey Roberts replaced JC Sanders and Sommy Ogukwe.
- JC Sanders continues to struggle in life after Jesse as he went 0-4 from the field and 3 turnovers in 16 minutes.
- Davon Marshall led all Flames in scoring with 12 on 4/7 shooting from 3. Can’t wait to see him play against Big South competition.
- Tavares Speaks tallied 11 points on 5/8 shooting. Speaks is looking like he will be Liberty’s Senior leader this season.
- JR Coronado had his best game in his short career with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Liberty hits the hardwood again tonight with an 8pm tip off with host Sam Houston State.
