The Liberty Flames have opened ASUN play with an unblemished 5-0 mark to stand atop the league standings following the team’s win over Lipscomb in a hotly contested game Saturday night.
This week, the Flames hit the road for a couple of games in Florida beginning Thursday night against 2nd place North Florida who is 4-1 in league play.
For the third straight week, Liberty is in the others receiving votes category in the AP Top 25, as the Flames received 24 votes, up from last week’s 11. Liberty comes in ranked 34th in the poll.
The Flames remain No. 2 in the Mid Major Top 25, only trailing No. 1 Gonzaga who received all 31 first place votes.
Liberty is at No. 24 in the NET, down slightly from last week’s mark of 22.
In KenPom, the Flames are currently sitting at No. 54, down slightly from last week’s ranking of 50 on Monday. KenPom predicts Liberty to finish ASUN play at 15-1 and UNF at 11-5.
The latest ESPN Bracketology still has Liberty as an 11-seed playing 6-seed Wisconsin in Tampa.
Liberty finds itself in all 79 brackets submitted to Bracket Matrix, with an average seed of 11.37, highest seed received is a 8 with the lowest being a 13.
