Earlier today we told you Brett Reed was in on the Liberty coaching job, and that information got further cemented by a curious plane. Thanks to Chris Lang of the Lynchburg News & Advance, we discovered a Liberty University owned plane flew from Lynchburg to Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Lehigh, Pennsylvania early Sunday afternoon. The plane landed in Lehigh at 1:52 PM and left for Lynchburg at 6:43 PM.

So, who exactly is Brett Reed?

He’s been at Lehigh since 2002 and head coach for the Mountain Hawks since 2007. He has a 145-104 overall record at Lehigh in 8 seasons including 3 20-win seasons. He led Lehigh to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and 2012. You may remember the #15 seed Lehigh knocking off #2 seed Duke in the first round of the 2012 Tournament.

Reed was born in Waterford, Michigan and went to college at Eckerd in St. Petersburg, Florida. Prior to his time at Lehigh, he was an assistant at UNC Greensboro and High Point. He earned a Ph.D. in 2003 from Wayne State University.
