Buchanan is a 6’5″, 290 pound offensive tackle from Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. He had numerous FCS offers including former Big South rivals Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb. Other offers included Jacksonville State, Richmond, and William & Mary.
Buchanan visited Liberty’s campus for an unofficial on July 31st and shortly thereafter announced he would be making his commitment public on August 10th. On the first day of training camp, last Saturday, the Liberty coaching staff touted two verbal commitments from offensive line prospects. Ben May announced his commitment later that evening.
Buchanan and May grow the Flames’ 2020 class to 16. The class is expected to feature 6 offensive linemen.
